After graduating from BU I spent most of my career in social services employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Through elected and appointed positions with Service Employees International Union Local 509 I had the opportunity to work on a myriad of social and economic issues. As the the Vice-President and Political Director of the North Shore (Massachusetts) Labor Council I had a vehicle to lobby and politicaly influence legislation favorable to working men and women and their families.

With a continuing passion for nature and the outdoors I enjoy gardening, kayaking, bicycling and walking. Latter in life I took up yoga and ballroom dancing. In reirement I have been spending time in MA, RI and FL with a lot of foreign travel in between. Fascinating visiting the places I learned about in school and saw pictures of in National Geographic.

Happy Birthday Ralph and continue to enjoy your sailing and winters in the Villages. I tried sailing a few years ago in a Walker Bay dingy. A gusty wind came up and toppled me into Narragansett Bay a couple hundred feet from shore! After dragging the dingy while swimming back to shore I decided kayaking was all the excitement I need on the water!
