Happy Birthday Chuck!

Happy Birthday Chuck from another Florida retiree.

Jay and I were friends from the age of 12.  During junior high school and high school we spent much time together as we lived only a street apart.  Jay was always a wonderful guy, kind, considerate, and giving.  He shared a birthday with President Kennedy and we always had fun discussing that fact.  Our most intense experience together was six weeks of infantry basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia at the height of the Vietnam war..  We always joked as to who the better soldier was, but in truth, it was him (albeit not by a lot and neither of us was very good).  I knew that he was very ill when he told me he was not going to be able to make it to our reunion as he had really been looking forward to it. Still, even in his last e-mail to me in late September, he was very optimistic about the future

A real giant of our class is gone, and he will be forever missed by his family and friends.
